A second critical advance in MediationZone v8.0, System Insight delivers a new reporting dashboard. This enhances both the ease of use and value delivered by the product. In System Insight, key performance Information specified by the MediationZone user is displayed in a comprehensive and easy-to-understand format. Both system-related and dataflow-aware information can be displayed.
The ability to quickly compile and visualize system statistics such as data flow information, audit data and internal storage reports, all of which are updated in real time but which can also include historic data, makes system operations much easier. The degree of control over what is measured and how it is displayed allows the user to accrue further value from the update.
MediationZone customers can decide exactly what to measure and track. This might include data related to Numeric MIM values (such as from workflows, e.g. TPS, sessions, UDRs processed, data volumes, etc.) as well as system statistics (such as CPU, memory, disk, etc.) Sources are probed periodically (for example, every ten seconds and measurement values (such as sample, average, minimum, maximum) are also user defined.
Once compiled an API and WUI allows dashboards to be easily defined as well as time periods for reports. The visualized insights take the form of time-series, metrics stacked area graphs, presented as either or both ticker dashboards and historic charts.
Dashboards can drive significant performance optimization. The user can view, among other things, system load, queue lengths, GC behavior, total TPS in peak hours, live feeds and more. This enables correlation of application load peaks with lower-level resource utilization. Viewing the load effect of workflow configuration changes live provides the user with instant feedback if data flow through the system is interrupted at any point.
System Insight also allows the user to visualize performance trends such as load distribution across 24h/week, peak hours or other specific metrics. The ability to view load trends over longer periods (such as months) enables more accurate capacity planning. Comparing aggregated incoming and outgoing CDRs for all workflow instances of a defined type can drive efficient load balancing distribution for convergent batch and real-time flows. It also enables notifications to be feed back into MZ as UDRs for thresholds are crossed.
With System Insight, MediationZone takes the value of industry-leading data integration and management functionality a step further by allowing its output to be more easily and quickly collected, shaped, then visualized in a way that can drive improved and more efficient performance. We believe that the benefits of being able to leverage System Insights-enhanced control and easy access to key performance information-are significant for the product user.
